Varsity Field
The Falcons have established Varsity Field as their home soccer pitch on a full-time basis since the 2004 season.
Both the men's and women's programs have played matches on the field since their respective inaugural seasons (1994 men and 1995 women). Prior to 2004, the teams divided time between Varsity Field and the campus Intramural Field for home soccer matches.
With the completion of the McChesney Student Activity Center in the fall of 2004, the teams now have direct access to one of the finest sports facilities in the southeast.
Over the last few years, there have been noticeable improvements to the facility. The Bermuda grass field was lighted just before the 2004 season kicked off. The most recent upgrade is in the seating area. A large grandstand area, able to accommodate 700 fans was completed in the fall of 2007. Fencing now encloses the entire facility to improve security in the complex. Plans for a locker room/services building to anchor the facility is underway as the university begins its capital campaign for facility improvements.
The University of Montevallo sports teams have the opportunity
to compete at facilities that are among the best in NCAA Division
II athletics. Information on each facility is listed below.
