MONTEVALLO, Ala. Head coach John Jarnagin and 12 University of Montevallo senior baseball players took some time to give back to the community on February 4th at the Jimmie Hale Mission. Founded in 1944, the Jimmie Hale Mission is a shelter for homeless, hungry and hurting men. Not only does the mission focus on helping young men with their physical needs, but also their spiritual needs.

MONTEVALLO, Ala. - The University of Montevallo mens basketball program will be nationally televised as part of the NCAAs college basketball package with CBS College Sports Network (formerly CSTV), according to a recent announcement from NCAA headquarters in Indianapolis, Ind.

MONTEVALLO, Ala. The University of Montevallo mens basketball team (18-3, 8-3 PBC) came back from a three-point halftime deficit to defeat the visiting Hurricanes of Georgia Southwestern State University (5-16, 1-10 PBC), 62-58. UM senior Gerald January (Macon, Ga./Westside) had two blocks in the game which tied him for the single-season record at Montevallo since UM joined the NCAA in 1996. January now has 45 blocks on the season which is tied with Darron Robinson (2006-07) who had 45 blocks during the 2006-07 season.

MONTEVALLO, Ala. - The University of Montevallo womens basketball team (11-10, 4-7 PBC) ended its five-game skid by dominating Georgia Southwestern State University (9-12, 4-7 PBC) and avenging an earlier loss, 70-53. The Falcons never trailed in the game and were led by junior Kristen Seigenthaler (Murfreesboro, Tenn./Siegel) who scored a career-high 20 points as she hit four three pointers and was 7-of-11 from the floor.

MONTEVALLO, Ala. The University of Montevallo mens golf team opened up their spring season and the New Year February 1-2 at the Outback Steakhouse International in Panama City, Fla. The Falcons had a good first day with three team members finishing under 80 on the Par 72 course. Jon Henderson (Rainsville, Ala./Plainview) led on both days for the Falcons finishing the tournament +13 tying individually for 28th place. Tripp Cash (Troy, Ala./Pike) and Lee Callaway (Leeds, Ala./Leeds) also had strong performances finishing tied for 49th and 58th places individually.
