Guilford Named Southeast Region First Team Gold Glove by ABCA

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Sophomore pitcher Alex Guilford (Montgomery, Ala./Alabama Christian Academy) of the University of Montevallo baseball team (25-28) was named First Team All-Southeast Region Gold Glove by the American Baseball Coaches Association. This is Guilford’s second First Team All-Region Gold Glove selection after being named First Team last season. Only two pitchers in the entire Southeast Region receive this award and Guilford has made it to the list during his first two seasons as a collegiate baseball player.

Guilford has a perfect fielding percentage with four putouts, 32 assists and no errors in 36 chances. He only allowed 13 stolen bases in 81.1 innings pitched and had just two wild pitches. He pitched the second most innings on the team and had the second lowest ERA among starters on the squad.
