Davis Named to Cal Ripken League All-Star Team

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Rising senior Devon Davis (Mason, Ohio/Indiana Tech) of the University of Montevallo baseball team was named an All-Star in the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League. He helped the National League to a 9-3 victory over the American League on July 11. He is a current member of the Silver Spring-Takoma Thunderbolts.

Davis entered the All-Star game in the third inning a pitched a shutout inning to help propel the National League to victory. He was one of five Thunderbolts selected to the All-Star game.

Davis has made five starts for the Thunderbolts this season while pitching 29.2 innings. He has 18 strikeouts and a 4.55 ERA which is best among the starting pitchers for Silver Spring-Takoma.

The Thunderbolts are back in action tonight as they travel to Waldorf, Maryland to take on the Southern Maryland Nationals.
