Coleman Named to the Preseason All-Conference Team

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Senior forward Cecil Coleman (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Bay Tech) of the University of Montevallo men’s basketball team was named to the preseason All-Peach Belt Conference Team. Coleman was one of just five players selected for this honor.

Coleman started in 31 of Montevallo’s 33 games last season, averaging 11.4 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.  A returning senior forward from Tampa, Fla., Coleman was also second on the team in blocks and fourth in free-throw percentage.  He was named to the West Florida Thanksgiving Classic All-Tournament team and was a key part of a Falcons team that spent most of the 2009-10 season ranked in the top 25 and which advanced to the championship game of both the PBC Tournament and the NCAA Regional tournament.

The Falcons open up the 2010-11 season with an exhibition contest at Division I University of Louisiana-Lafayette on Nov. 9 at 7:07 p.m. UM opens the regular season at home Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m. against Carver Bible College.
