Falcons Open Up Spring Season with 15th Place Finish

MONTEVALLO, Ala. - The University of Montevallo men's golf team opened up their spring season and the New Year February 1-2 at the Outback Steakhouse International in Panama City, Fla. The Falcons had a good first day with three team members finishing under 80 on the Par 72 course. Jon Henderson (Rainsville, Ala./Plainview) led on both days for the Falcons finishing the tournament +13 tying individually for 28th place. Tripp Cash (Troy, Ala./Pike) and Lee Callaway (Leeds, Ala./Leeds) also had strong performances finishing tied for 49th and 58th places individually.

The Falcons finished the tournament in 15th place. Four other Peach Belt teams competed at the International including the tournament winning team Flagler University (+4), in third place Columbus State University (+32), and fifth place Armstrong Atlantic State University (+42).

The Falcons will return to action at the Huntingdon Invitational at Wynlakes Country Club in Montgomery, Ala. on February 23rd.
