Falcons Finish Fourth at Georgia Southwestern
AMERICUS, Ga. – The University of Montevallo men's cross country team returned to action after a 43-year hiatus and finished fourth at the Georgia Southwestern Remembrance Race. UM competed against just one other Peach Belt Conference school, Columbus State. CSU finished first overall just three spots ahead of the Falcons. The Falcons top runner was freshman Mark McDonald (Auburn, Ala./Auburn) who finished 10th overall with a time of 29:43.1.
Freshman Justin Arsement (Lafayette, La./Acadiana) finished just two spots back with a time of 30:02.8. The Falcons third finisher was freshman Matthew Corn (Brandon, Miss./Northwest Rankin) who placed 21st overall with a time of 31:28.7. Freshman Adam Weil (Syracuse, N.Y./Northwestern) finished ten spots behind Corn with a time of 32:42.3.
The Falcons final two runners were freshman Jake Davidson (Spanish Fort, Ala./Spanish Fort) and freshman Evan Brock (Fairhope, Ala./Fairhope) who finished 43rd and 47th, respectively.
The Falcons will return to action Saturday, Sept. 18 at 8:35 a.m. as they travel to the Mercer Runfit Sports Invitational.
