Falcons Finish Fifth at Fleet Feet/Earl Jacoby Memorial
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The University of Montevallo men's cross country team finished fifth at the Fleet Feet/Earl Jacoby Memorial hosted by the University of Alabama in Huntsville. The Falcons top runner was freshman Zackery Walsh (Trussville, Ala./Hewitt-Trussville) who finished 17th overall with a time of 28:09. UM finished ahead of Carson-Newman College, University of North Alabama, Christian Brothers University, Stillman College and Miles College.
Sophomore Aaron Bush (Wilsonville, Ala./Shelby County) finished 21st overall with a time of 28:34 while sophomore Mark McDonald (Auburn, Ala./Auburn) came in 27th with a time of 29:17. Freshman Nick Fasanello (Fairhope, Ala./Fairhope) was not far behind in 29th with a time of 29:32. Sophomore Jake Davidson (Vicksburg, Miss./McGill Toolen) came across 51st with a time of 32:35.
The final two UM runners were freshman Brian Smith (Telford, Tenn./University School) and sophomore Evan Brock (Fairhope, Ala./Fairhope) who finished 53rd and 59th, respectively.
The host, Alabama-Huntsville, won the event followed by the University of West Florida and Austin Peay State University.
The Falcons will return to action Saturday, Sept. 17 at 8:00 a.m. as they travel to the Bridgestone-Pacer Invitational in Aiken, S.C.
