COLUMBUS, Ga. - The University of Montevallo women's basketball team (10-10, 3-7 PBC) lost another tough Peach Belt Conference game on the road at Columbus State University (12-8, 6-4 PBC), 67-53. UM was led by junior Carrie Parrott (Murfreesboro, Tenn./Siegel) who had 12 points and five rebounds. She hit 6-of-9 shots from the floor and added a block on defense.
UM was only awarded 12 trips to the free throw line compared to CSU's 26.

With 13:48 left in the half and the Cougars up 16-14 CSU went on a 7-0 run to open up its lead to nine. The rest of the first half the lead would hover around the nine-point mark as they closed out the half up 37-28.
The second half was much like the first with both teams trading blows and the Cougars getting one small run that opened up the game. CSU held its lead around nine points most of the second half. With 5:37 left in the game UM trailed by nine and was looking to make a run but CSU responded with a 6-0 run that opened their lead to 15. The Falcons were unable to recover as CSU went on to win 67-53.
The Falcons return to action this Saturday at 1:30 p.m. as they host Georgia Southwestern in a rematch of an earlier 60-52 GSW win. GSW is 9-11 overall and 4-6 in the PBC.
