Falcons Add Three More Recruits for 2012-13 Season

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women’s basketball head coach Cindy Hilbrich announced the addition of three recruits for the 2012-13 season. Washeeta “Shay” Bonner, Alexsis Brown and Katie Colson will all join the Falcons this fall.

Women’s Basketball Announces Summer Day Camp and June Jam Dates

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Head coach Cindy Hilbrich of the University of Montevallo women’s basketball team has announced the dates of the University of Montevallo women’s basketball Day Camp and June Jam. The Day Camp is open to boys and girls from ages 6-17. The dates are June 11-14 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The June Jam is June 15 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and is a play date is for any high school team. Teams must have at least eight players and can only have two coaches on the bench. Each team is guaranteed three games.

Falcons Fall in Conference Quarterfinals, 63-55

COLUMBUS, Ga. – The University of Montevallo women’s basketball team’s (11-16) season came to an end at the hands of #9 USC Aiken (24-3) in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament Quarterfinals, 63-55. For the second time this season the Falcons took the Pacers to the limit but fell just short in the end. Freshman Taylor Beverly (Brandon, Miss./Northwest Rankin) saved her best performance of the season for the final game as she scored a career-high 24 points while hitting 11-of-14 from the field. She also grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. Senior Tiffany McClure (Montgomery, Ala./Tallahassee C.C.) chipped in 13 points and also dished out seven assists.

Falcons Clinch Postseason Berth in Regular Season Finale, 55-48

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – With a trip to the Peach Belt Conference Tournament on the line the University of Montevallo women’s basketball team (11-15, 6-11 PBC) downed North Georgia College and State University (12-14, 6-11 PBC) for the second time this season to secure the fourth and final spot in the PBC West Division. The Falcons were led by senior Tiffany McClure (Montgomery, Ala./Tallahassee C.C.) who had 16 points, five assists and a pair of steals. Freshman Taylor Beverly (Brandon, Miss./Northwest Rankin) came up just short of a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds. She also added three blocks and three steals. Prior to the game the Falcons honored their four seniors including McClure, Davia Harris (Memphis, Tenn./Three Rivers C.C.), Shavonne Seymore (Hartsville, S.C./Northwest Florida State College) and Taylor Welch (Salem, Ill./Illinois Central College).
