CALERA, Ala. – Freshman Ashlee Beck (Athens, Ala./Ardmore) led the University of Montevallo women's golf team to a second place finish at the Full Moon Bar-B-Que Montevallo Intercollegiate at Timberline Golf Course in Calera, Ala. Beck shot a two round score of 152 to finish first in the field of 24. She sat in second after the first round but was able to catch the leader and eventually win the tournament by two strokes. As a team the Falcons finished just three strokes behind Columbus State University who won the tournament.
Freshman Megan Clyne (Aberdeen, Scotland/Harlaw Academy) finished second for the Falcons and tied for third overall as she shot a 157. Sophomore Hilary Shaner (Madison, Ala./Bob Jones) finished third for the Falcons and fifth overall but unfortuantly she was playing as an individual and her score did not count towards the team standings. She finished with a 160.
Senior Emma Breen (Swindon, England/Kingsdown) finished fourth for the Falcons and tied for ninth overall with a score of 164. Sophomore Tracey Marshall (Newfields, N.H./Heritage Academy) rounded out the top-five as she finished 12th overall with a score of 167.

CSU won the tournament followed by UM. North Georgia College and State University finished third and Christian Brothers University rounded out the field in fourth.
The Falcons will return to action October 24-25 at the Flagler Fall Slam in St. Augustine, Florida.
