MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women's soccer team (2-4) dominated possession and held Christian Brothers University (3-0-2) to just two shots on goal but it was not enough as the Buccaneers scored the lone goal of the contest to down the Falcons, 1-0. The Falcons out-shot the Bucs 17-6 and had eight shots on goal compared to CBU's two.
UM had a number of offensive opportunities but the Falcons were never able to put the ball into the net. Sophomore Taylor Kerr (Birmingham, Ala./Vestavia Hills) led the Falcons with four shots including a pair on goal while freshman Aimee Godfrey (Dundee, Scotland/Craigie) had three shots all of which were on goal.
CBU's goalkeeper Robyn Wade made eight saves in the shutout. CBU's lone goal came from Allison Tutt who scored at the 26:36 mark on a cross from Alex Bickenbach.
Sophomore Kaitlin Thomas (Calgary, Alberta/Foothills Composite) took home the loss in goal as she made one save.
The Falcons will be back in action Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. as they travel to Georgia College for a Peach Belt Conference contest.
