Steve Faulkner will return for his fourth season as head coach of the women's tennis program at the University of Montevallo.
This past season Faulkner guided the team to its first winning season since 2003. They also finished just one spot out of the conference tournament. He coached two players to All-Conference honors which marked the first time in school history that a pair of Montevallo tennis players had been named to the All-Conference team during the same season.
Faulkner concurrently is a teaching professional at the Pelham Tennis Center. He was previously the tennis director at the Altadena Country Club in Birmingham for 14 years. Faulkner has also been a pro-coach with the Pelham High School varsity team for the past seven years, and is a certified teaching professional with the United States Professional Tennis Association since 1987.
A 1985 graduate in Computer Information Systems at Jacksonville State University, Faulkner is also Chairman of Junior Competition for the United States Tennis Association-Alabama, helping oversee junior tournaments throughout the state. He has served on the USTA-Alabama committee since 1997.
Faulkner, with wife Sandy, and children Lauren and Cameron
reside in Alabaster.
