MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Former University of Montevallo men's basketball standout Troran Brown has signed a professional basketball contract with Fribourg Olympic in the Ligue Nationale de Basket (LNBA) in Switzerland.
Brown joins Fribourg for the remainder of the LNBA regular season, which runs through late March.
Brown most recently played for Dundgovi in the Mongolian National Basketball Association (MNBA), where he was selected to Mongolian Superleague All-Star Game.
Brown also played for the Rayos de Hermosillo in the CIBACOPA league in Mexico, averaging 12 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game during his time in Central America.
Brown's first stint in professional basketball came with the Sarajevo Spars in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Brown played in 17 games for the Spars and averaged 9.9 points to go along with 1.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game while helping the team reach the Final Four in the Division I league in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Brown was named the All-Bosnia and Herzegovina League Import Player of the Year award by EuroBasket following his lone season with the Spars.
Brown, a two-time NCAA Division II All-American selection by the National Association of Basketball Coaches, led Montevallo to the Sweet 16 in two of his three seasons with the Falcons.
The 6-foot-3 native of Phoenix, Arizona, led the Peach Belt Conference with 19.6 points and 6.1 assists per game during his senior season.
Brown is fourth leading scorer in program history with 1,752 points in three seasons and his 574 career assists are the most in program history and Peach Belt Conference history.
