AUGUSTA, Ga. – Junior Emily Gibson (Toronto, Ontario/North Toronto Collegiate) of the University of Montevallo women’s golf team was named Peach Belt Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for the second-straight week. This is the second PBC Golfer of the Week honor for both the team and Gibson.

CALERA, Ala. – Junior Emily Gibson (Toronto, Ontario/North Toronto Collegiate) picked up her second-straight tournament win on Monday (2/22) as she bested the field of 59 competitors at the Ann Rhoads Shootout hosted by Birmingham Southern College. Gibson and the University of Mobile’s Maegan Rice were tied with a tournament best 149 after two rounds and had to go to a playoff.

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Junior Emily Gibson (Toronto, Ontario/North Toronto Collegiate) picked up her second tournament win since last season. Gibson who tied for the tournament title at the Ann Rhoads ‘Southern Shootout last season has captured her first out-right title this season as she finished four strokes better than any other competitor at the Newberry College Invitational. This is Gibson’s third tournament of the 2009-10 season and third top-10 finish. The Falcons as a team picked up their best finish of the season as they came in eighth in a tournament of 16 teams.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women’s golf team opened up the 2009-10 season with a ninth-place finish at the Ann Rhoads 'Southern Shootout hosted by Birmingham Southern College. The Falcons were led by junior Emily Gibson (Toronto, Ontario/North Toronto Collegiate) who finished tied for fifth and was named to the All-Tournament team.
