MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Former University of Montevallo women’s golf standout Morgan Bell (2005-08) is competing in the Canadian Professional Golfers’ Association Women’s Championship presented by Nike Golf.

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo athletic department had 65 student-athletes named to the 2009-10 Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll. Men’s soccer led all Montevallo teams with 13 members being named to the list. The Presidential Honor Roll recognizes all student-athletes at the 13 PBC member institutions who had a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the academic year.

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Junior Emily Gibson (Toronto, Ontario/North Toronto Collegiate) of the University of Montevallo women’s golf team was named the programs first ever First Team All-American by the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA). Gibson is one of six golfers to be named on the first team and the only Peach Belt golfer on the list.

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Junior Emily Gibson (Toronto, Ontario/North Toronto Collegiate) of the University of Montevallo women’s golf team was named to the Peach Belt Conference All-Academic Team. Only two female golfers in the PBC met the requirements for the award so Gibson was joined by Katja Dammann of UNC Pembroke as the only two female golfers on the All-Academic team.

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The University of Montevallo women’s golf team has been awarded the Peach Belt Conference Women’s Golf Sportsmanship Award for 2009-10. The Peach Belt Conference Awards Program honors one team from each of the 12 participating championship sports following their championship season. The team selected is the one who best exemplifies the spirit of sportsmanship and conducts themselves with a high degree of integrity, character and class.
