MONTEVALLO, Ala. The University of Montevallo athletic department had 65 student-athletes named to the 2009-10 Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll. Mens soccer led all Montevallo teams with 13 members being named to the list. The Presidential Honor Roll recognizes all student-athletes at the 13 PBC member institutions who had a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the academic year.

MONTEVALLO, Ala. Eight of the top student-athletes at the University of Montevallo were honored with the announcement of the athletic departments annual awards for 2009-10. The announcement came at the annual athletic awards banquet held on the campus of the University of Montevallo last evening (April 28).

MONTEVALLO, Ala. On Thursday April 15 the University of Montevallo Athletic Department joined forces with Montevallo Connection to give 110 fifth graders an experience of higher education and collegiate athletics at the University of Montevallo. Something they will never forget! The purpose of the Montevallo Connection is to re-energize and further strengthen the partnership between the University of Montevallo faculty and the faculty in the Montevallo schools. The Montevallo Connection is dedicated to cultural, educational, athletic and professional exchanges that will enhance the educational experiences of both students in the Montevallo public schools and those at the University of Montevallo.

MORROW, Ga. The University of Montevallo womens tennis team (7-13, 1-10 PBC) fell to No. 12 Clayton State University (13-6, 10-2 PBC), 9-0. The Falcons picked up eight game victories on the day. Sophomore Helene Nordgreen (Bergen, Norway/Bergen Handels Gymnasium) won a game against 37th-ranked Katie White at No. 2 singles as she fell 6-0, 6-1.

MONTEVALLO, Ala. The University of Montevallo womens tennis team (7-12) won its second-straight match by a score of 9-0. The Falcons did not drop a set against the visiting Southeastern University (6-13). Seniors Alex Mangum (San Antonio, Texas/John Marshall), Kristi Kelly (Tallahassee, Fla./Lawton Chiles) and Emily Blackwood (Cullman, Ala./West Point) all won two matches. Southeastern only fielded a team of four players so they were forced to forfeit three matches.
