Cross Country Course

The University of Montevallo completed a scenic Cross Country Course in the fall of 2011 and annually hosts a collegiate race along with one of the premier high school events in the state of Alabama.

The course also served as the host site for the 2012 Peach Belt Conference Championship event.

The wide-open course hosts nearly a thousand competitors and spectators each fall in the Early Bird Invitational, which has quickly become a premier stop for some of the top high school teams in the state each year.

The Falcons also host several college teams annually in the Falcon Classic, which attracts some of the top teams in the region.

The course, which features a big, open field at the starting line, is an all grass surface with approximately 400 meters of gravel on a path between eight feet and 10 feet wide throughout the trail.

The course will also include several additional features after current renovations are finished. The trail will be extended by one mile and will feature additional rolling hills with a bridge providing a path over University Lake.
