Timberline Golf Club

3812

Timberline Golf Club, home of the University of Montevallo men’s and women’s golf teams, opened to widespread acclaim in April 2002.

Designed by professional golfer Jerry Pate, Timberline got its name from the tall timber and huge hardwoods scattered across the 6,745-yard, par 71 course. The challenging course is recognized as one of the best semiprivate facilities in the state of Alabama.

A railroad once used to haul timber runs through the property and adds a unique feature to the course design, which includes Tift Eagle Bermuda greens.

Timberline is located approximately 10 miles east of the University of Montevallo campus in Calera, Ala., just off Interstate 65 exit 228.

Timberline plays host to the Falcons’ Full Moon Invitational, which attracts some of the top teams from across the Southeast for a two-day, three-round tournament each September.
