Late Goals Hurt Falcons in 3-1 loss to Christian Brothers

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Men's soccer team took to the road to face off against the Christian Brothers Buccaneers Sunday afternoon.  The Falcons found themselves on the wrong end of a 3-1 match with Buccaneers.

How It Happened

The Falcons got behind early in the heavily contested match when the Buccaneers broke the deadlock in the 20th minute to take a 1-0 lead.

The Falcons responded with a goal of their own in the 26th minute.  Steven Rocca and Sebastian Kraus helped set up Nikola Klacar for the equalizer.

After the half both teams battled it out for another 30 minutes before the Buccaneers broke the tie with another goal in the 75th minute.  Christian Brothers took the lead 2-1.

The Falcons struggled to generate opportunities to answer back and eventually surrendered the game's final goal in the 90th minute to fall behind 3-1

Stat of the Match

The Falcons were outshot 20-6.  However, Montevallo was 50 percent with their shot on goal percentage, making the most out of the opportunities that they had.

Klacar was the only Falcon with multiple shot attempts today with one being the tying goal in the first half.

The Falcons will take on Lee University this Wednesday, September 16 at Varsity Field in a match scheduled for 7:00pm CST
