HOW IT HAPPENED

-The first half was an even and open contest but the Bearcats took the lead in the 31^st minute. Conor Felstead took advantage of a pass by fellow striker Sam Lofts to beat the defense and find goal.

-The Falcons were handed a chance to equalize in the 47^th minute after Steven Rocca was brought down in the box. Cylkowski stepped up to take the spot-kick and made no mistake. He placed the ball in the right corner, beating the keeper with pace despite the goalie guessing the right way.

-Lander took back the lead through an Austin Petrovich own goal in the 64^th minute. A shot from the right side was deflected and turned into the Falcons net to restore the Bearcat advantage.

-Ianis Ghachem made certain of the result in the 87^th minute. The defensive midfielder had a fantastic game and was rewarded with a goal that helped keep Lander undefeated in conference play.

 STAT OF THE GAME

-The Falcons outshot the Bearcats 16 to 15 despite losing on the night. Cowdroy was forced into six saves whereas his counterpart Robert Kuta made three saves.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

-The seniors on the team were recognized before the game. John Evans, Jeff Hessenberger, Steven Rocca, Kevin Francis, Sergio Gonzalez, Srdjan Cylkowski, and Oliver Cylkowski were the players honored.

UP NEXT

Wednesday night is the final home game for the men's team. They take on Christian Bros. on October 26 with kickoff set for 7 p.m. Central.
