BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The University of Montevallo made up 13.6 percent of the Gulf South Conference's Fall Academic Honor Roll as 1,049 student-athletes were awarded the honoree, the league announced Monday afternoon.

Of the 16 schools which have a fall sport participate within the GSC, only four had more honorees than the Falcons.

To be listed, recipients must have achieved a grade point average of 3.00 out of a possible 4.00 and have competed against outside competition. Student-athletes who only practiced, but did not compete against outside competition, are not eligible.

Montevallo's 14 men's cross country honorees were tied with Valdosta State for the most in the conference, while the Falcons' 19 men's soccer recipients were one shy of the top spot.
