MONTEVALLO, AL - The University of Montevallo womens lacrosse team won its third game in one week against Quincy University Sunday March 8th in Motown. This game was the second game the team played in two days after they beat Emmanuel Friday.
Quincy started the game on top against UM scoring two unanswered goals in the first few minutes of the half. The Falcons offense ignited after a
Caleigh Spoon goal put the first point on the board for Montevallo which led to the team out scoring QU 7-3 in the first half. The scoring would stay consistent in the second half where the Falcons landed 7 more goals against Quincy's 4.
Montevallo was domininant on the draw, winning 16 draw controls compared to only 6 for QU. UM also cleared the ball successfully the entire game going 20-24 on attempts.
Sophomore
Anja Kuys led the Falcons in scoring with 5 goals, along side
Brianna Shepler, Crystal WIlliams, and Hailey WIlcox who contributed 2 goals each. The Falcons saw scores from
Caleigh Spoon,
Emily Tulk, and
Hannah Fortin as well with a goal each.
