CLINTON, MISS. - The Montevallo men's cross country team finished fourth at the Gulf South Conference Championships on Saturday morning. The 8K race featured three teams ranked nationally and more than 100 runners in the field.
Senior
Joe Leventry was the Falcons top finisher with a time of 24:28.01. His 5th place finish earned him a spot on the All-GSC 1st-team. Â
Joseph Pitard narrowly missed out on earning a place on the All-GSC second team, crossing the line 21st with a time of 25:03.91. Other Falcons that scored were
Chaney Holder with a time of 16:08.01 (37th),
Bill Archer 26:10.98 (40th), and
Drew Roberts 26:44.33 (50th).Â
"I was very pleased with the team effort and placement overall," said UM Coach
Tommy Barksdale after the race. "This team has a bright future ahead of them and if we keep working hard, big things are going to happen."
The Falcons will have the week off before heading to Florida for the NCAA Division II South Regional on November 6th!
