So Far This Season…
Montevallo comes into the weekend with a 2-7-2 overall record and a 1-3-2 mark in league play. The Falcons currently sit in a tie for the final Gulf South Conference Tournament spot with a total of five league points. The Falcons faced trials through the non-conference schedule, posting a 1-4 mark through the first two weeks of the season. Montevallo opened league play with a 3-1 win over Shorter before falling to Lee and West Alabama. To start October, UM posted its first draw of the season with a scoreless tie at Alabama Huntsville. Last weekend, UM dropped a match with West Florida before rebounding with a 1-1 draw against Spring Hill.

AUM holds an unbeaten 6-0-5 record overall and a 5-0-2 record in league play as the No. 25 team in the United Soccer Coaches National Poll. The Warhawks opened the season with a 1-0-3 record in non-conference action before entering GSC play with three straight wins over Union, Lee, and Shorter. AUM was then held scoreless for just the third time with a 0-0 draw against UAH before rattling off two straight wins over West Alabama and Spring Hill. In the most recent outing, the Warhawks managed a 0-0 draw with West Florida on Oct. 8. The AUM frontline is led by junior Nick Atkinson who has tallied a total of five goals while Adam Hanson has recorded three goals.
Series History Against AUM:
The Falcons and the Warhawks have been on equal footing historically with Montevallo holding a one-game advantage over AUM. Since the first meeting in 2008, Montevallo holds a 6-5 record over AUM with the Warhawks taking the first game of the series 2-1 on Aug. 8, 2008. The Falcons then strung together five-consecutive wins over the Warhawks. In 2019 and 2021, AUM took back-to-back matchups before Montevallo added its final series victory in the fall of 2021. In 2022, AUM took both matches with a 2-1 victory in the regular season and a 2-0 win in the first round of the GSC tournament.
