MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo Wrestling team will face its third Conference Carolinas dual match of the year, on Friday, Dec. 1, at 6:30 p.m. Central in Gaffney, South Carolina.
UM enters the conference dual at 1-1 overall in league action and 2-1 on the season.
Currently, the Falcons are in second place in the West Division standings behind Lander.
Last Time Out
The Falcons are coming off a successful outing at the Life U Open on Nov. 18, in which two Falcons posted top-5 placements including a bracket win for Gabe Hixenbaugh.

The Falcons enter the third conference dual of the year at 2-1 overall and 1-1 in conference action. Two weeks ago, Hixenbaugh entered the Openmat.com rankings at No. 8 in the 133-weight class. Despite going 5-0 at the Life Open and winning the 133 open bracket, the Alabaster, Alabama native remains at No. 8 in the rankings. So far, Hixenbaugh is 12-0 on the year, 3-0 against ranked opponents and has six tech fall victories.
Just behind Hixenbaugh is a trio of Falcons with 11 wins on the year. Freshman
Carson Freeman boasts an 11-6 record on the year, freshman
Derek Hussey holds an 11-3 mark and redshirt freshman
Jeffery Tubbs sits at 11-5.
Montevallo defeated Allen in its first dual in program history 32-15 and fell to Newberry 31-14.
Scouting Limestone
Limestone is 1-1 on the year in conference play and 2-2 on the year so far. The Saints earned a league win over Lincoln Memorial 34-10 but dropped an inter-league clash to Lander 48-0. In the non-conference, Limestone defeated Marymount 50-0 but lost to VMI 37-6.
