MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo wrestling team is set to take on Belmont Abbey on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 2:00 PM CT.

Baxter Hoffman and
Colton Sullivan placed for the Falcons. Hoffman went 5-2 for a sixth-place finish in the 184-weight class. Sullivan went 4-2 for an eighth-place finish in the 149-weight class.

About Montevallo
The Falcons will step back into conference play as they were successful on Friday, Nov. 15 when they defeated Huntingdon, 35-9. In the dual, Montevallo had four tech falls and two pins. This will be UM's first match up against Belmont Abbey in program history as the Falcons come in with a 1-1 Conference Carolinas record.
Colt Brown will look to set the tone early in the 125-weight class as he is currently 3-0 in dual match ups. Brown has two wins by decision and added a win by tech fall in 6:39 against Huntingdon.
Jake Chisolm and
Savian Graham both have two tech falls so far in duals this season. Chisolm leads Montevallo with five tech falls on the season and is tied for third on the team with nine wins. Graham is currently 7-1 on the season including 3-0 in bouts ending in a tech fall and 3-0 in bouts ending in a fall.
Montevallo is 1-1 in conference play and is tied for second-place in the west inside the Conference Carolinas.
Scouting RV Belmont Abbey
The Crusaders come in with a 2-0 record in conference play as they have defeated Emmanuel and Lincoln Memorial. At the King Open, Belmont Abbey had four placers including a second-place finish from Skyler Caban in the 149-weight class.
Belmont Abbey has two ranked wrestlers in the NWCA rankings, No. 11 John Carayiannis in the 149-weight class and Max Kiel in the 174-weight class. Carayiannis has three wins this season resulting in falls including a pin in 0:28. Kiel has three wins including two major decisions and a fall in 2:04.
