GREENWOOD, Ind. – University of Montevallo wrestling's
Mark Pennison has been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District At-Large team.

Pennison is one of 331 NCAA Division II student-athletes named to the Academic All-District team. Additionally, he is the first wrestler in University of Montevallo history to earn the accolade.

A native of Covington, Louisiana, Pennison earned 10 wins in his second year of collegiate competition and first with the Falcons. In the classroom, Pennison excelled and was named a National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar all-American.

Pennison holds a 3.78 cumulative GPA and is pursuing a undergrad degree in exercise and nutrition science.

In order to qualify for the Academic All-District teams, student-athletes must be a sophomore, have a 3.5 cumulative grade-point-average or higher and be an active member of their team.
The 2024 Academic All-District® Men's At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes at-large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
