MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo wrestling team takes on No. 11 Reinhardt on Tuesday, Jan. 28 at 6:00 p.m. inside Central State Bank Arena.
Last Time Out
The Falcons picked up two huge wins their last time out as they took down Emory & Henry and Bluefield State. Montevallo started the night with a 47-6 win over the Wasps where they won nine out of 10 bouts. The lone loss for UM was a forfeit. The Falcons picked up another Conference Carolinas win as they defeated Bluefield State 28-19. UM won six out of the 10 bouts.

About Montevallo
For the first time in program history, Montevallo will play host to a ranked team inside Central State Bank Arena. The Falcons are currently on a four-dual win streak including three duals with 47 team points or more.

Carson Freeman earned his 20
th win of the season where he defeated Bluefield State's Kairyn Hall in a 9-7 decision. He brings a 7-2 dual record into Tuesday and is on a four bout win streak. Freeman is 7-0 in tech falls (leads the team) and has six decision wins, five falls and two major decision wins this season.
Aiden Knight won twice last Tuesday with a 10-8 decision over Sebastian Gabarrete and a 10-0 major decision over Thomas Dolo. Knight is 11-9 this season including 4-1 in major decisions, 1-0 in tech falls and 2-0 in pins.
Last season, the Falcons fell to Reinhardt 12-30. The Falcons won four bouts, all by decision. Among the Eagles wins, they picked up two falls and a tech fall on Montevallo.
Scouting No. 11 Reinhardt
The 11
th ranked Eagles of Reinhardt are 3-1 on the season and bring in nine individually ranked wrestlers into Tuesday's dual. Reinhardt has two individuals in four separate weight classes that are ranked with five total ranked weight classes (125, 149, 157, 165 and 197). They most recently competed at the Missouri Valley Invite where they had one placer.
CJ Shadinger placed for Reinhardt and comes in as the 22
nd ranked 149 in NAIA. Shadinger won three bouts including a 14-3 major, a 7-2 decision and a 5-2 decision. Matt Jenkins is the Eagles highest ranked wrestler as he is fifth in the 157-weight class. Jenkins sports a 13-4 record including a perfect 7-0 in dual bouts.
