MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo wrestling team is narrowly edged out by No. 11 Reinhardt, 19-23, on Tuesday, Jan. 28 inside Central State Bank Arena.
 
Montevallo split with the Reinhardt Eagles and won five out of 10 bouts. Jeffery Tubbs and Carson Freeman defeated ranked opponents convincingly. Tubbs took down No. 21 ranked John Lovett in a 12-6 decision and now is tied with Jake Chisolm for the team lead with two ranked wins. Freeman earned his first ranked win of the 2024-25 season as he won against No. 15 AuShaud Evans in a 11-2 major decision.
 
Daniel McEntyre won a well-fought bout in the 133-weight class as he won in sudden victory over Eaiden Neal. His 12-9 win is his 12^th win of the season and brings his dual record to 5-1. Savian Graham earned his fifth tech fall of the season as he won 18-3 over Jonathon Paramore in the 184-weight class. Graham moves to 12-4 this season and 5-1 in dual bouts. Willie Cox won his third major decision of the season as he took down Reinhardt's Albert Goodgame, 19-6. Cox now has 13 wins in the 2024-25 season.
