Falcons' Postseason Run Ends After Loss to Host Nova Southeastern

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Montevallo women's soccer's postseason run came to an end after falling to No. 2 seed Nova Southeastern, 1-0, on Sunday afternoon.
 
Montevallo fired the games' first shot off the foot of Lainey Farabaugh in the open 90 seconds before Lara Brewis added a second shot at the two-minute mark. Senior keeper Jolie Cazale tallied her first save of the night in the fifth minute to keep the game knotted at 0-0. The Falcons' keeper added a second save in the 23rd minute just before Morgan Goehring nearly put the Falcons on top but was turned aside by the NSU goalie. In the 34th minute, Katelynn Kott saw a scoring chance but missed the mark high. Cazale finished the half with two more saves to send the game to the break in a 0-0 tie.
 
Cazale added her fifth save of the night in the 58th minute to keep the Sharks off the board. NSU took three more shots over the next 12 minutes before taking a 1-0 lead in the 73rd minute. The Falcons saw a pair of scoring chances over the next nine minutes with two corners but couldn't find the back of the net. In the 88th minute, Goehring saw the Falcons' final chance with her second shot on goal but couldn't find the back of the net. With no more chances left in the final two minutes, Montevallo's season came to an end with a 1-0 loss to Nova Southeastern.
