MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo wrestling is set to take on No. 12 Lander and Emmanuel on Tuesday, Feb. 4. These will be the Falcons final two Conference Carolinas duals of the 2024-25 season and they will be held in Williamson Arena on the campus of Emmanuel.
Last Time Out
In the Falcons recent dual, they narrowly lost to No. 11 Reinhardt inside Central State Bank Arena. The Eagles won 23-19, but both teams won five bouts each. UM forfeited the 125-weight class.

About Montevallo
The Falcons come in with a 6-4 overall record into Tuesday but have won their last four Conference Carolinas duals. This will also be the second consecutive dual against a ranked opponent as Montevallo opens with No. 12 Lander. In the nightcap, UM will wrestle against Emmanuel.
Carson Freeman and
Jeffery Tubbs are coming off dual wins against a ranked opponent. Freeman picked up his team-leading 21
st win of the season as he took down No. 15 AuShaud Evans with a 11-2 major decision. Tubbs earned his second ranked win of the season as he won by a 12-6 decision over No. 21 John Lovett.
The Falcons are 0-1 against Lander and Emmanuel as they lost to the Bearcats 3-48 and the Lions 15-30 last season.
Scouting No. 12 Lander
The Bearcats come in with a 12-4 overall record and a perfect 8-0 record inside the Conference Carolinas. They have won they last two duals and are 5-1 in their last six duals.
Lander is coming off a tri-dual where they took on Bluefield State and Emory & Henry. They were able to pick up two shutout victories as they took down BSU 52-0 and Emory & Henry 53-0. The Bearcats have seven wrestlers with 16 wins or more on the season.
LU will showcase three ranked wrestlers in the NWCA rankings. David Hunsberger is currently the No. 1 ranked 165. Christian Davis will come in as the No. 4 ranked 133. Lastly, Isham Peace is ranked 11
th for the 141-weight class.
Scouting Emmanuel
The Lions come in with a 3-5 record including a 3-4 mark in Conference Carolinas duals. They are 2-3 in their last five duals with wins over Lincoln Memorial and Emory & Henry.
Emmanuel currently has three duals this season where they have scored 36 or more points.
