FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The University of Montevallo wrestling team comes away with a win and a loss in their tri-dual against No. 12 Lander and Emmanuel on Tuesday, Feb. 4. The duals took place on the campus of Emmanuel University.
In the first dual of the night, the Falcons fell to No. 12 Lander. Lander was dominant as they won all 10 bouts and kept their undefeated streak in Conference Carolinas duals alive.
In the night cap, the Falcons were victorious over the host school Emmanuel. Montevallo was able to win 7-out-of-10 bouts and added two tech falls and a pin. After the Falcons forfeited the 125-weight class,
Noah Smith made his return for Montevallo in a big way as he picked up his second tech fall of the season. Smith defeated Gavin Mastrangelo 20-4 in 4:59.
Savian Graham added his fifth tech fall of the season with an 18-0 shutout over Emmanuel's Chase Bisel.
Carson Freeman won his team-leading 22
nd bout of the season as he pinned Emmanuel's Austin Marshall in 1:50. Freeman is now 9-3 in dual bouts and has seven tech fall wins, six pins and four major decisions in his sophomore season as a Falcon.

Individual Highlights
- Noah Smith got the Falcons first win of the dual as he earned the tech fall over Gavin Mastrangelo. This was Smith's 12th win of the season.
- Kaden Brown won his 19th bout of the season as he defeated Isiah Davis in a 5-1 decision. Brown now has eight decision victories this season.
- Nick Dempsey won in the 149-weight class bout with a 7-6 decision win over Charles Hayes. Dempsey has 18 wins this season including four wins by decision.
- Carson Freeman was all over Emmanuel's Austin Marshall as he pinned him in 1:50.
- The Falcons won the final three weight classes of the dual including Savian Graham picking up a tech fall in the 184. Graham now has 13 overall wins including six tech falls.
- Jeffery Tubbs won his 16th bout of the season in a 14-7 decision. Tubbs has seven wins via decision.
- Willie Cox won an excited weight weight match up against Emmanuel's Jacob King. Cox won in the sudden victory and earned his 14th bout of the season.
