Wrestling Travels to Tennessee for Key Conference Carolinas Clashes

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Montevallo wrestling team continues its Conference Carolinas schedule on Wednesday night, traveling to Bristol, Tenn., for a pair of duals against Lincoln Memorial and No. 19 King. The Falcons will open the evening against the Railsplitters at 5:00 p.m. CT before closing the night against the host Tornado at approximately 6:30 p.m.

OFFICIAL SCHEDULE

Montevallo enters the week riding a seven-dual win streak after a dominant 44-5 road victory over Shorter on Friday. The Falcons improved to 8-1 overall and 7-1 in Conference Carolinas play, tallying three pins and two technical falls in the win.

Lincoln Memorial is still searching for its first dual victory of the season and comes into Wednesday following a 36-18 loss to Bluefield State last week.

King enters the matchup ranked No. 19 nationally by the National Wrestling Coaches Association, holding an 8-8 overall dual record and riding a three-dual winning streak in league action. The Tornado feature two nationally ranked wrestlers, led by No. 7 Brennan Watkins at 149 pounds and No. 6 Clint Morrisette at 174 pounds.

MATCH NOTES

  • Montevallo sits atop the Conference Carolinas West Division with a perfect 4-0 record alongside No. 15 Lander, while King is close behind at 4-1.
  • The Falcons are 2-0 all-time against Lincoln Memorial and will be seeking their first-ever win over King.
