Men's Soccer Picks Up 2-1 Win Over Tuskegee

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo men's soccer picked up a 2-1 win over Tuskegee on Saturday afternoon.
 
Joaquin Wladdimiro opened the game with a shot on goal in the fourth minute that needed a Tuskegee team save to keep the score level. Just a few minutes later, Cole Jones fired another shot on goal but was turned aside by the keeper. In the eighth minute, Ethan Biedenstein tallied his first save of the game before adding a second and third save over the next 15 minutes. In the 33rd minute, Tuskegee broke the ice with the first goal of the game to take a 1-0 lead into the half.
 
Out of the break, Biedenstein added another pair of saves to keep the Falcons within striking distance. In the 64th minute, Viktor Willems nearly tied the game, but his shot sailed just high and careened off the crossbar. After several Montevallo shots over the next 15 minutes, Juan Diego Alfaro beat the Golden Tigers' keeper to knot the score at 1-1 in the 78th minute. Just four minutes later, Alfaro scored Montevallo's first penalty kick goal of the season to secure Montevallo's 2-1 win.
