MONTEVALLO, Ala. – For the first time in the program's three-year history, the University of Montevallo wrestling team will compete in the Conference Carolinas Championship on Sunday. The Falcons open the day in the semifinal round against East Division No. 1 seed UNC Pembroke at 10:00 a.m., with the championship dual scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
OFFICIAL SCHEDULE
Montevallo enters the championship following a historic regular season, finishing 10-3 overall and 9-2 in Conference Carolinas action. Both totals mark program records. The Falcons also went 6-1 in divisional duals to secure the No. 2 seed in the bracket.
UNC Pembroke brings a 15-4 overall record into Sunday's championship, including an 8-2 mark in conference action. The Braves, ranked No. 24 nationally by the NWCA, clinched the East Division title with a 27-12 win over Belmont Abbey on Jan. 23. UNC Pembroke features three nationally ranked wrestlers, led by No. 6 Logan Robinson at 133 pounds. Keegan Roberson (No. 12 at 157) and Caleb Grau (No. 15 at 165) add to a strong Braves lineup.
On the opposite side of the bracket, No. 15 Lander (19-3) will meet Belmont Abbey (8-5) in the other semifinal. The Bearcats enter the championship riding a six-dual winning streak and boast six nationally ranked wrestlers. Belmont Abbey counters with a talented group led by No. 11 Luke Kunath (141), No. 14 Kylar Pickard (184), and No. 12 Caleb Moore (197).

The duals will be streamed live on the Conference Carolinas Digital Network, with a $15 daily pass available. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased
here, while children 12 and under are admitted free. Conference Carolinas students with a valid ID will also receive free admission.

- The Falcons and Braves have met just once previously, with UNC Pembroke earning a 31-9 victory on Nov. 6, 2024.
