2022-23 (SENIOR): Shayla set multiple personal bests at the New South Conference Championships including a time of 1:08.95 in the 100 Y Fly and a time of 1:14.19 in the 100 Y Back. Her best finish came against Birmingham Southern in the 50 Y Free coming in at a mark of 28.77.

2021-22 (JUNIOR): Had a rough season but was still able to put up best times in the 50 and 100 Fly at the New South Championships.

2020-21 (SOPHOMORE): Notched multiple personal best times at the Delta State Christmas Invite including the 50 free (27.16), the 100 back (1:16.16), and the 100 fly (1:13.18) … Set a new personal record in the 50 back with a time of 37.05, and the 50 fly for a 32.63 mark against Ouachita Baptist … Eclipsed her career high mark in the 100 fly with a time of 1:19.07 during round three of the CSCAA Virtual Cup

2019-20 (FRESHMAN): Set a new PR in multiple events at the New South Intercollegiate Swim Championships including the 100 fly (1:13.80), 50 free (27.58), and the 100 free (59.78).

HIGH SCHOOL: Whaley was a four-year varsity letter winner at Harmony high school...also competed for SCAT...qualified for the State Games of America.

PERSONAL: Whaley plans to major in Accounting at Montevallo...she is the daughter of Kip and Anissa Whaley and has one brother, Weston, and two sisters Kelsey and Alexandria Whaley.
