Biography
2022-23 (JUNIOR): Ray placed in the top 5 seven times during his Junior year campaign. Against Birmingham Southern and Millsaps, he finished top five in all three events he competed in including a third place finish in the 1000 Y Free with a time of 10:17.34. Asmakis set four season best times at the New South Conference Championships in the 500 Y Free, 1000 Y Free, 1650 Y Free, and the 400 Y IM.
2021-22 (SOPHOMORE): After battling illness late in the season Ray finished the year at NSISC Championships; 13th in the 500 Free with 4:46.44, 9th in the 1000 9:41.23, 10th in the 1650 16:29.50 and 13th in the 400 IM 4:13.33… Was named 2nd Team All-NSISC.
2020-21 (FRESHMAN): Tied for first place in the 200 free against Ouachita Baptist with a finals time of 1:52.82 … Finished second in the 500 free against Ouachita with a time of 5:07.89 … Took second in the 500 free at BSC with a finishing time of 5:00.08 … Secured multiple top finishes and school records during the NSISC Championships including a third place finish in the 1000 free with a school record time of 9:37.80, a third place finish in the 500 free with a program best time of 4:39.30, and another third place finish in the 1650 free with a UM record time of 16:10.02 … Was a contributor to the 800 free relay unit that finished third at the NSISC Championships notching a school record time of 6:59.01 … Was named First Team All-NSISC
HIGH SCHOOL: 2019 Team Captian ... 2017, 2019 Most Improved Swimmer.
