Trey Gregory enters his first season as Head Coach, his third with the Falcon Footy, and his 10th year overall at the University of Montevallo after being promoted in December 2025.
Gregory joined the women’s staff as Associate Head Coach in July 2024, helping guide the Falcons through one of the most successful stretches in program history. During his two seasons in that role, Montevallo advanced to two Gulf South Conference Championship matches, earned back-to-back NCAA Division II Tournament appearances for the first time in program history, and captured consecutive Falcon Cup awards recognizing excellence in competition, academics, and community engagement.
The 2024 campaign featured a historic run that included a trip to the GSC title game and an NCAA South Region berth while posting one of the highest win totals and goal outputs in school history. In 2025, the Falcons again rose to the top of the conference standings, reached a third straight GSC Championship match, and returned to the NCAA Tournament as the No. 6 seed in the South Region.
Gregory originally joined Montevallo in 2016 as an assistant coach with the men’s program. Prior to that, he served on the women’s staff at Bethany College (NAIA) and coached extensively in the Birmingham area with Vestavia Hills Soccer Club and Hoover Soccer Club. He also spent a season as a volunteer assistant at UAB and led Oak Mountain High School’s freshman boys’ team to an undefeated season in 2012.
A Birmingham native, Gregory played club soccer for American Soccer Club and at Oak Mountain High School before playing 4 years at UAB. He earned three All-Conference USA honors during his career and later played semi-professionally for the Panama City Pirates in the USL Premier Development League. Gregory graduated from UAB with a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy and a minor in History.
