Griffith is entering his 2nd season as the assistant coach for Montevallo swimming. Griffith comes to Montevallo from Florida International as a volunteer assistant. He is a graduate of Delta State University where he earned a degree in marketing and English while earning a minor in history. During his stint at FIU, Griffith assisted with training and developed training workouts. He helped FIU capture their 8th consecutive conference championship. Prior to his arrival at FIU, Griffith was an assistant coach at the Greater Pensacola Aquatic Club while attending Booker T Washington High School.
At Delta State, Scott set many personal bests including a time of 16:53.86 in the 1650 Y Free, a time of 9:54.82 in the 1000 Y Free, and a 4:48.39 mark in the 500 Y Free.
Scott is currently pursuing his Masters degree at Montevallo in educational psychology and research/human growth and development. He currently resides in  Alabaster.
