2024-25 (GRADUATE): Appeared in nine meets... Tallied three podium finishes against Millsaps with two second-place marks and a third-place finish... Finished second in the 200-yard back with a time of 1:58.58 at the Delta state Christmas Invitational... Tallied three personal bests at the Conference Carolinas Championship

2023-24 (SENIOR): Derek competed in seven meets during his senior season as a Falcon. McDonald's top finish of the season came at the tri-meet against Emmanuel and Berry where he placed third with a time of 57.28 in the 100-yard backstroke. 

2022-23 (JUNIOR): Against Millsaps, Derek placed second in the 50 Y Back and third in the 100 Y Back with times of 27.80 and 58.78. He set personal records in the 100 Y Back at the New South Conference Championships with a time of 54.36 and in the 200 Y Back notching a time of 1:57.12.

2021-22 (SOPHOMORE): Had a successful year with personal best at the end of the season in the 100 and 200 back, 400 IM and 500 Free.
 
2020-21 (FRESHMAN): Finished third in the 200 back against Ouachita Baptist with a finals time of 2:09.34 … Finished inside the top ten in the 200 IM against Ouachita, clocking a time of 2:13.02 to finish eighth … Set new PR’s in the 50 back (25.67) and in the 100 back (1:05.60) at the New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference Championships … Notched a new career high mark in the 100 IM with a time of 1:00.90 during the third round of the CSCAA Virtual Cup

HIGH SCHOOL: 2-Year Swim Captain, Most Outstanding, Swimmer (2 Years), Western Conference Champion 200 IM (2019), 4-Year Varsity Swimming Letterman, 3-Year Percussionist Letterman, 3-Year Solo & Ensemble Superior Rating. 7th Place finish in the 200 meter backstroke at 2019 Florida Long Course Senior Champs.  McDonald was a member of the Pipeline Swimming Club in Tampa, Florida under Coach Piper.
