University of Montevallo Athletics

2023-24 (5TH YEAR): For the second straight season, Mahone qualified for the DII NCAA National Championship. Will earned the title conference champion in the 100 and 200 -yard backstrokes with times of 48.03 and 1:46.48. Mahone was also a part of the first relay team in Montevallo program history as he swam in the backstroke portion of the 200 and 400-yard medley relays that qualified with times of 1:28.45 and 3:13.95. During his 5th year as a Falcons, he won eight events. At Division II Nationals, he was apart of the relay team that set a school record time of 3:12.82 in the 400-yard medley relay. 

2022-23 (SENIOR): Will took first place in four final events during his Senior season as a Falcon. He also set four new personal records one of which was in the 200 Y Back at the NCAA Division II Championship where he swam a 1:45.40 time. At the New South Conference Championships, Mahone set a personal record time in the 200 Y Free with a time of 1:41.48, in the 50 Y Back notching a time of 22.46, and in the 100 Y back with a time of 47.68.

2021-22 (JUNIOR): One of 4 guys to achieve an NCAA “B” cut in the 200 Back, 1:48.81 as well as one of 2 guys who for the first time earned Scholastic All-American 2^nd team with a gpa above 3.5. He didn’t stop there setting personal best in 200 Free 1:43.18 and 100 Back 49.51.

2020-21 (SOPHOMORE): Took first in the 50 back against Ouachita Baptist with a gold medal time of 25.27 … Part of the free relay squad that took first in the 400 against Ouachita with a finals time of 3:17.90 … Finished first in the 200 back with a finals time of 1:58.54 at Birmingham Southern … Was a member of the 400 Medley Relay unit that took first against Birmingham Southern with a time of 3:39.25 … Second in the 50 free at Birmingham Southern (22.55) … One fourth of the 400 freestyle relay team that placed first with a time of 3:15.51 against Birmingham Southern. … Took part in the 400 medley relay finishing first with a time of 3:38.94 against Ouachita Baptist … Set a new program record in the 100 back with a time of 49.68 at the NSISC Championships

2019-20 (FRESHMAN): Recorded the top times in school history in the 50 back (23.38), 100 back (49.98), and the 100 fly (55.22) during his freshman campaign … Swam in the New South Intercollegiate Swim Meet where he recorded his fastest 200 back (1:52.32) making him second on Montevallo’s all-time list.
