Justin Pratt is entering his 15th season as the Head Coach of the University of Montevallo men’s and women’s golf programs in 2023-24. Pratt is the first full-time Head Coach in the program’s history.
In 2022-23, with a young roster, Pratt led the women's team to a second-place finish in the GSC Tournament - the highest in program history.
Pratt led the women’s golf program to its best national finish in the 2015-2016 season. The Falcons finished the season with a berth in the NCAA Division II Southeast Region tournament and finished with a 5th place finish. Pratt also coached Elaine Wood to her first appearance in the NCAA Division II National tournament, the second individual appearance in the program's history.
The 2015-2016 women’s golf team also enjoyed their highest ranking by Golfstat. The Falcons were ranked fourth at the end of the season.
During the 2012-2013 season, Pratt coached the program’s first-ever participant in the NCAA Division II Southeast Region tournament. Pratt also coached a member of the PING NCAA Division II All-Region team and the All-Peach Belt Conference team, as well as the conference’s Freshman of the Year.
The Falcons continued to improve during the 2012-2013 season, which included a No. 16 ranking in the Golf Stat NCAA Division II head-to-head rankings at the conclusion of the fall portion of the season.
In Pratt’s first year as coach of the Falcons, the men’s team had a season that witnessed improvement from beginning to end and included a solid win at the University of West Georgia and a sixth place finish at the Peach Belt Conference Tournament at Callaway Gardens in a very tough golf conference.
Prior to being named the head coach, Pratt had been a familiar face around the Montevallo athletic department having spent eight years as a volunteer assistant coach for the men's soccer program.
With his assistance the UM soccer program reached new heights, going to four NCAA tournaments, making one Final Four appearance, winning the GSC regular season in 2008 and the GSC tournament in 2004. He helped coach 43 All-GSC selections, one Major League Soccer draft pick, four NSCAA All-Americans, 17 NSCAA All-Region members and three GSC Players of the Year.
Pratt is a 1999 graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he received a bachelor's degree in health promotions/fitness leadership while leading the Blazers to a pair of Conference USA championships and a NCAA Elite Eight appearance in 1999 during his four-year career. Pratt was a first round draft pick in the 2000 A- League Draft ( USL 1st Division) and played 3 years with the Indiana Blast and El Paso Patriots.
