University of Montevallo Athletics

Barbara Holcombe serves as the Assistant Athletic Director for Operations at the University of Montevallo after previously serving as the department's Business Manager. In her current role, she oversees the day-to-day business and operational functions of the athletics department, working closely with administrators, coaches, and staff to support the success of Montevallo's NCAA Division II programs. Her responsibilities include budgeting, purchasing, fiscal management, and ensuring compliance with university and NCAA policies and procedures.

Holcombe joined the athletics department in March 2016 as an Administrative Assistant before being promoted to Business Manager in 2022. A proud Montevallo alumna, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 2012 before completing a Master of Business Administration in 2022. Her academic background and years of institutional experience have provided a strong foundation for her leadership within Falcon Athletics.

Beyond her work in athletics, Holcombe has been an active contributor to the University community. She has served on numerous campus committees, including the Grievance Committee, Staff Senate, College Night Committee, and the Faculty and Staff Alumni Committee. She also serves as the campus advisor for Alpha Gamma Delta, the sorority she joined as a Montevallo student.

Holcombe's connection to UM extends well beyond her own career. Her family has maintained ties to Montevallo as students and employees since 1950, reflecting a longstanding commitment to the institution and its mission.

A native of Montevallo, Alabama, Holcombe and her husband, Nick, reside in nearby Alabaster.
