Ben Chajet begins his first season as Montevallo’s hitting coach and recruiting coordinator in 2026 after rejoining the Falcons’ coaching staff.
In his first season in the role, Chajet helped lead an offense that produced two All-Gulf South Conference selections. Jack Fitzgerald earned All-GSC First Team honors, while Hudson Allen was named to the All-GSC Second Team. Fitzgerald also garnered postseason recognition as a D2CCA First Team All-South Region selection and earned Second Team All-South Region honors from both the ABCA and NCBWA.
Under Chajet’s guidance, three Falcons reached double-digit home run totals as Montevallo ranked third in the GSC with 54 home runs. The Falcons scored 10 or more runs in 12 games, highlighted by an 18-run outburst against Hillsdale on Opening Weekend. Montevallo also led the conference with 95 hit-by-pitches, the eighth-highest single-season total in the program’s NCAA Division II era.
Chajet previously served as a volunteer assistant coach at Montevallo during the 2023 season, working primarily with the hitters and outfielders while assisting with daily program operations. That season, the Falcons posted a 39-16 overall record, finished second in the Gulf South Conference, and earned an NCAA Regional berth. Montevallo led the conference in nine offensive categories, while the 39 victories marked the program’s highest win total since 2007.
Following his time in Montevallo, Chajet spent two seasons at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, where he served in multiple coaching capacities. He also worked as a summer coach at IMG Academy in 2022, coaching pitchers, hitters, and infielders. In 2021, he served as a Mental Performance Coach for the Mizuno Outlaws organization in Tysons, Virginia.
As a student-athlete, Chajet played collegiate baseball at Dean College in Franklin, Massachusetts. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2020 before completing a Master of Science degree in Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology from Barry University in 2022.
