GREENWOOD, S.C. – The University of Montevallo women's soccer team fell to Lander University 1-0 in a Peach Belt Conference match Oct. 5.
The Falcons (0-6-2 overall, 0-4 in Peach Belt Conference) were outshot 26-9 in the match against the Bearcats, who fired 10 shots on goal.
Nina Morales scored the only goal in the eighth minute of the match off an assist from Kimberly Kesler.
Senior goalkeeper Taylor Kerr, ranked in the top 10 in the Peach Belt Conference in saves, recorded nine saves during the match.
Sophomore Jade Pennock fired a team-high four shots in the match.
Senior Paige Scott recorded two shots, including one shot on goal. Fellow senior Christine Prince recorded the Falcons' only other attempt on goal.
The Falcons return to action Wednesday, Oct. 9 with their Think Pink match against the University of North Georgia, supporting the Susan G. Komen For the Cure Foundation.
The Falcons is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
