Montevallo defeats Young Harris 2-1

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – After a tough start to the season, the University of Montevallo women's soccer team has been on a roll as of late. The Falcons earned points in four of their last five contests, and a win on Saturday would make three wins in their last five games.  The Falcons were able to defeat the Mountain Lions 2-1.

This win took the Falcons record up to 3-8-4 on the season.

The Falcons stormed the field on a mission. At just 7:36, Rebecca Dowling was able to net her first goal of the year. Camilla Alderin recorded an assist on the tally. The 1-0 Montevallo lead would stand the rest of the half.

In the second half, Young Harris was able to hang around, but Montevallo was able to score the insurance goal at 69:49. Michaela Graber continued her stellar freshman season, recording her fifth goal of the year.

The two goal cushion came into play, as the scrappy Mountain Lions ruined the Falcons' clean sheet at 89:43. Whitney Thomas scored her 10th goal of the season.  The score of 2-1 would be the final of the match.

Montevallo outshot Young Harris 25-19.
