MONTEVALLO, Ala. – University of Montevallo women's basketball coach Cindy Hilbrich announced the signing of Katija Tarailo to a National Letter-of-Intent during the NCAA early signing period.

Tarailo will join the Falcons as a freshman in the fall of 2014 after graduating from Crown Point High School in Crown Point, Ind.

"We are really excited for Katija to join our Falcon family," Hilbrich said. "She brings a match-up nightmare on the perimeter, but also has the versatility to play inside. Katija is exactly the type of student-athlete we want at Montevallo."

Tarailo averaged 8.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per game during her junior season at Crown Point High School.

Tarailo, who was named All-State honorable mention in the state of Indiana, earned her high school team's Most Improved Award while leading the team in scoring and recording the highest shooting percentage on the team last season.

Tarailo is a three-year varsity letterwinner in girls' basketball and is a four-year scholar athlete at Crown Point.
