FLORENCE, S.C. – Following the Falcons' big quarterfinal win on Friday afternoon, three Montevallo players were honored by the Peach Belt Conference. Seniors Manyi Ati and Kaleigh Harvey and sophomore Rebekah Phelps all were recognized during the ceremony.
Ati, a middle hitter from Lawrenceville, Georgia, was named to First Team All-Conference for the fourth time in her remarkable Montevallo career.
Ati led the team with 360 kills on the season.
The feat of being named to the All-Conference First Team has only been done five other times in the history of the Peach Belt Conference.
Harvey, the team's standout libero, was named Second Team All-Conference.
Harvey led the Peach Belt Conference in digs during the 2013 season with 632.
Not only was Harvey named All-Conference, but the senior from Katy, Texas was also named the Peach Belt Conference's Libero of the Year.
Sophomore Rebekah Phelps won the Elite 15 Award, which is given to the student-athlete with the highest GPA.
Phelps, a Huntsville, Alabama native, is an elementary education major who maintains a grade point average of 4.0.
These three Montevallo stars will be back in action Saturday, November 23rd when the take on the top-seeded Pirates from Armstrong in the semifinals of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament.
