GREENWOOD, S.C. - Fresh off its first ever win over a No. 1 ranked team as a member of NCAA Divison II, the University of Montevallo baseball team will face Lander University in its second game at the Peach Belt Conference tournament May 9 at Dolny Stadium.
The Falcons (32-18) defeated USC Aiken, which entered the contest ranked No. 1 in the latest Collegiate Baseball Newspaper NCAA Division II poll, 7-4 in their opening game of the tournament May 8. The victory was the Falcons' first over a top-ranked team in its NCAA Division II history.
Montevallo, the No. 8 seed in the conference tournament, will face No. 4 seed Lander University (35-14) in the final game of the day. First pitch is set for 7:30 p.m. CST. The Falcons took one-of-three games against the Bearcats in a Peach Belt Conference series at Dolny Stadium in March.
Daily adult tickets are $5 each, with senior citizens and children 12-and-under admitted for $3 each. Students from any Peach Belt Conference school will be admitted free with a valid student ID. There will be no complimentary tickets, parents tickets or other free passes for the Peach Belt Tournament.
A day pass is available for anyone wishing to attend all Peach Belt Conference tournament games (all days, all games) for $15 (adults) or $10 (children 12-and-under/seniors). The day pass entitles the holder to see every game that day.
