GAFFNEY, S.C. – The University of Montevallo volleyball team swept Limestone College 3-0 in a non-conference match Sept. 21, extending its current winning streak to five matches.

The current winning streak is the longest streak by the Falcons since the 2010 team won eight matches in a row on its way to the program's second appearance in the NCAA Division II Tournament.

Senior Manyi Ati led Montevallo (8-2) with 13 kills in the victory. Ati added 11 digs as she posted her fifth double-double of the season.

Sophomore Rebekah Phelps contributed 10 kills. Fellow sophomore Anna Quinn added eight kills, while senior Michelle Carle chipped in seven kills as she posted a team-high .375 attack percentage.

Senior Kaleigh Harvey recorded a team-high 17 digs. Freshman Hannah Christie registered a team-high 17 assists, while sophomore Briana Marquez contributed 15 assists.

The Falcons took the opening set against the Saints, 26-24. The largest lead by either team in the frame was four points, with Ati providing a timely service ace and a kill down the stretch to secure the set for Montevallo.

Montevallo used a 7-2 run to close out a 25-20 win in the second set. Quinn started the rally with a pair of kills before Phelps and Christie contributed a kill each during the run to help the Falcons take a 2-0 lead in the match.

The Falcons closed out the sweep with a 25-11 win in the third set. Montevallo opened the set with a 10-2 run, capped with a kill by Carle, as it coasted to a 3-0 sweep against the Saints.

Montevallo will return to action Wednesday, Sept. 25 with a non-conference match on the road at Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

First serve is set for 6:30 p.m.
